Scientific quality and relevance of the school

Since 2002, we have been able to observe several signals of the quality of the school and of its relevance: the increasing number of participants and applicants, the high number of applications by former participants, the increasing gap between the number of positions and the number of applications, the increasing quality of applications and of course the feedbacks from the participants and from the lecturers.
The increasing quality of the applicants contributes to improve the quality of the audience which, in return, helps the recruitment of the best speakers.

A detailed statistical study highlights the current’s professional situation of ESNIE’s alumni, their geographical distribution and their research achievements (Esnie's alumni: who are they? What have they become?). Half of those who completed their PHD have now an academic position.

At the end of each session a questionnaire is distributed to the participants. It helps to assess their satisfaction and to improve the formula. The participants regularly stressed the quality of the faculties, the support ESNIE provides for their own research work, and the opportunity of networking it opens.

The quality and the relevance of the project are also underlined by several organizations:

  • From 2003 to 2010, ESNIE came first in the ranking made by the economics and management section of the CNRS in the evaluation of "Thematic schools"
  • From 2003 to 2008, ESNIE was labeled "European Summer School" by the scientific Committee of the International Relations and Co-operation Delegation of the French Ministry of Education and Research.
  • Since 2006, ESNIE has been receiving a significant support from the “Region Ile de France” and the Network of Excellence - DIME.

This quality gives to ESNIE the chance to be sponsored by those prestigious institutions.
